New Website up and Running

Yeah, I have got my new site up and running after lots of hours tapping away at the keyboard. You can check it out at www.craterrimceramics.co.nz and tell me what you think! I need to get busy now and get some more good photography of my work. I have enlisted the help of my Dad who is a published photographer and fortunately he does it for love!!!! Always helpful eh!!!

I am now concentrating on so pieces for a local exhibition titled "Wai", this is the Maori word for water. I live at the head of the Lyttelton Harbour Basin and being surrounded by sea can be very relaxing and inspiring. The work I have produced is a series of vases and bowls with the rims reflecting the movement of the waves. They are glazed in a copper red glaze which has been fired in an electric kiln to give an icy blue colour. I also have a large sculptural piece titled "Splash" which is made out of earthenware clay and is designed to be an outdoor planter.

The next upcoming exhibition is the New Zealand Potter's Society National Exhibition in March where I am submitting a group from my "Sacred Vessels" series. The exhibition is in Christchurch along side the National Convention and it will be great to have it in my home town.

I am off to the studio now to finish some work for a local restaurant "The Volcano Cafe", only a few more days of school holidays left and the kids will be back at school,
